Managing your time and planning well are important skills for every follower of Jesus. The paradox is that you may get so good at managing your time that your “schedule” and “tasks” begin to dictate your life. Much like Martha in Luke 10:38-42.
Sometimes our schedule, tasks and planning can take over leading to much stress and anxiety. Our smart phones and diaries which started as a help have taken over and now master us rather than us managing them. Somehow, now, we no have “no” time.
Jesus calls us to consider what is important over what is urgent. This world makes everything URGENT – but spending time with Jesus is important. Making time to share the good news with our community is important. Helping a friend draw close to Jesus and become authentic, fruitful and purpose driven in their faith is also important.
Our time for our family, community and Jesus’ mission helps us flourish and find deep joy in our faith and service for him. Let’s be people who choose to MAKE time for the important things and be good stewards of the God given gift of (Chronos) time.
