We all live lives of many ups and downs. There are great times, good times and tough times. As a living part of our faith we love to celebrate one another’s stories, successes and at times sadness. They are all important – because God is over them all!
The wonderful news is that he is there with us – he comforts and strengthens us – he blesses us. And, as the author of Hebrews writes in chapter 12 verses 1-3 that he willingly authors the story of our life and faith … when we let him.
James Hollands was sharing this week about those moments God opened up doors and blessed him to sing for different bands. Here are some of his memories…
“I while back I spent time in New York and Los Angeles with the drummer who played for Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and others when I tracked the following song by the Manhattan Bridge in my friends studio.”
“I was on a trip with members of Justice Crew (a top rating Aussie dance crew who won X-Factor). We were working with Kids who were affected by HIV from all over the city.”
“For many years I also got to sing in a Corporate Band, here is a song we sang on Channel 10.”
James reflected, “The Lord has really blessed me to sing all over the world.” “One of the best moments was singing at the Sydney Entertainment Centre 30 years ago with my old ministry team Iron & Clay at a Youth Alive rally.”
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to sing all over the world with some of the most talented musicians and artists.” “But most of all I love to sing for Jesus at church on Sundays, to see the next generation do some amazing things and reach out to the young people of Maryborough with the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.”
“I want to encourage my family at Genesis Church to join with us on Wednesday night for one hour of prayer (from 7.30-8.30pm at the church) – to invite the Holy Spirit to come and move over our city. These moments are pivitol.”
